Our client has implemented an ambitious multi-phase regeneration plan to transform their city.
The Challenge
The client first approached Adecco to support its ambitious plan to fully regenerate and develop its city centre by sourcing highly skilled candidates for key project support roles.
The project included a strategy to create 1,000 homes for a community of 2,500 people and one million square feet of offices and workspaces to support up to 10,000 jobs. The council wanted to reinvent the area into a dynamic business location with a vibrant focus on community, leisure and culture, including memorable landscapes and public spaces.
Finding suitable candidates with the right skills, experience (residential and commercial) and enthusiasm to deliver large-scale regeneration presented a unique challenge. The client needed a permanent recruitment campaign partner who could implement a strategic and creative plan to find the necessary niche talent.

Our Solution
Adecco utilised its resources and specialist teams to conduct full market mapping and an intensive search and selection of the right candidates. This included headhunting potential candidates from similar projects. Thanks to our UK-wide infrastructure, we were able to look beyond the catchment area and discover relevant candidates from other regions who could be approached.
Recognising the positive narrative surrounding the project, the lead consultant relayed this to potential candidates through marketing and headhunting communications. These were designed to garner interest and enthusiasm and highlight the career prospects of overseeing an ongoing regeneration project with the potential to transform a famous UK city.
To maintain this engaging approach, all applicants were accompanied by the development directors on a tour of the current, planned and proposed development sites following an initial briefing. This helped applicants visualise the development plan, bringing it to life in an appealing way beyond a traditional interview and selection process.
Ultimately, we were able to find candidates who not only met the requirements for each role but were also genuinely enthused about the prospect of working on a large transformation programme.
