About The Client

Our client develops and constructs offshore wind projects across the globe.

The Challenge

The client had received over 1,200 applications across various countries for the second year of their graduate recruitment programme and were looking for a partner with the resources to screen all candidates.

Still refining their graduate recruitment process, the client enlisted Adecco to help handle the large volume of applicants while maintaining control over their broader hiring function.

The client had identified an unpredictable screening process, with high variability in the time required to screen each candidate, making it difficult to estimate how many applicants could be processed within a given timeframe. With this in mind, they wanted to maintain a commitment to contact all candidates three times.

The time zone differences between countries also posed a challenge, requiring coordination and planning to ensure candidates would be contacted at suitable and convenient times.

Our Solution

Adecco deployed our Talent on Demand team to manage the graduate recruitment project.

By carefully analysing application data from previous years across different countries, we were able to project the following year’s recruitment needs. This allowed us to strategically plan our resources, including the optimal number of team members to manage the process.

Our agile team quickly scaled up and down to meet the project’s needs, adapting to the diverse pool of applications received from various countries. This included seamless coverage from 6 am to 10 pm, enabling us to reach out to candidates based in Australia, Taiwan, the US and more. This proactive approach ensured candidates were contacted at convenient times, regardless of their location.

An expert recruiter was placed on duty from 6 am to 2 pm to manage the Asia-Pacific region before transitioning to the European market. An additional specialist recruiter was also available to serve US applicants from 1 pm to 10 pm. Our other recruiters continued to provide service during their standard working hours, focusing their expertise where needed and ensuring candidates were contacted a minimum of three times.

All applicants experienced a streamlined and user-friendly process through the client’s internal system, which allowed candidates to apply for roles directly. We also utilised the client’s system to efficiently screen candidates and provide real-time progress updates using a collaborative spreadsheet.

“Adecco were very efficient, and the project was delivered professionally and complimented by the candidates as well. We recognise the successful result of the project, and we were impressed by the quality of the candidates. We would use Adecco again should the company require further short-term support.”
